At this point due to the situation with the lockdown and things were affecting me mentally, I decided to just take a step back from the projects and create things to develop my skills and not give myself any pressure to do them, just go with the flow and learn to get back into art. So I thought what is the simplest thing that I could think to draw, so I thought, oh a rock is simple. How wrong I was. When painting the rock I had to think about depth and form, lighting and shadows and lots of small details to make it look realistic.
I watched tutorial by Walid Feghali, who explained the process of how he created rocks and it helped me a lot when painting mine. One thing I learned was to break things down into sections, my weakness is that I sometimes try and draw the whole object without taking it one step at a time. Start with the base colour and work your way up with shadows and lighting, then add the fine details.

I was happy with how the drawing turned out and inspired me to create more drawings even though I found this one difficult, finishing it gave me this sense of relief and drive.
I even created a video to show the process of how I drew the rock and this was fun to have a go at video editing again as I haven't done it in a while. May create more in the future.
