I really enjoyed this workshop, the instructor gave us practical ways and methods of how we can all manage stress and anxiety.

She would ask us questions like this to help us think about what is causing stress in our lives as we all go through it as some point in our lives and the we would turn to the person next to us and answer those questions:

What have you found stressful?

What has cheered you up lately?

Sniff my hands

Signs of stress

What happens in your body and mind?

Fight/flight/freeze

  • Hyperventilation

  • Dry mouth

  • Nausea

  • Need for toilet

  • Sweaty palms

  • Weak legs

We focus on negative memories more than positive, spend more time thinking about the positive

What do you stress about?

  • Being late

  • Not having a plan

  • Unproductive day

Connection

Use your ear to listen

Your eye to observe

Respect the other person

Be empathic, focus on their emotions

Giving

When we give to others it gives us a sense of fulfilment which boosts our self esteem

Rest

Sleep is the most underrated health habit, resting helps relax the brain and body so that you are able to to become energised and create more ideas

Action

(My personal ones)

  • Turn off phone an hour before bed

  • Start working out at least once a week

  • Start drawing at least once a week

Say no to:

Procrastination

To things I don't want to do

Sharing your goals with others can help fulfil them
