When creating the graphics I started with the female silhouette first. I kept the shape really simple and knew I wanted her to be the focal point so made her red which will be a bold contrast to the men who will be in green. I then drew out the farmer. The position of his body is turned away from his wife. I did this to show the tension they had between them.

With the priest I wanted him to have an eerie feel, kind of lurking in the background, so I made some of his features like his glasses and his hands stand out in white and light green, to contrast with the dark robe and shadowed face. I then changed the background colour to dark green so that the priest slightly blends in with it and to make the woman stand out even more. I added a red floor to bring a bit of separation to the image.

I then added a diagonal shape to the background as I thought it needed a little bit more to separate the layers. I also drew the scholar in a robe as that is how I envisioned him kind of like a monk, I also made him look similar to the farmer to show that they were both victims and that they were on the same side. I then tried adding text to the image but typography isn't a strong point for me and I felt like it detracted from the artwork but glad I tried it out to see what it could look like.
